A NEW NAME, WITH A 100-YEAR HISTORY
LogistiQ was launched in 2021, conceived by its parent company LEWCO, Inc. that has roots in American manufacturing that date back to 1917 along with a history of engineering high-quality conveyor technology that spans four decades.
1917
The Ohio Welding Company is founded by C.F. Meyer.
1952
The Meyer family sells the welding shop part of their business to brothers Harold and William Grumney, who rename it Lake Erie Welding & Fabricating. The welding supply and gas business becomes known as the O.E. Meyer Company.
1955-1973
Lake Erie Welding hires a U.S. Navy welding school graduate Anthony (“Tony”) Guerra. After several years, Tony buys into the business as a 50% partner and in 1973 becomes the sole owner.
1981
Two of Tony’s sons, Ron and Jerry, join the family business. The automotive industry provides them with significant business, placing orders for various types of conveyors. The company begins standardizing a line of conveyor equipment.
1985
Lake Erie Welding moves into a new 64,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
1989
The company purchases the former Farrell-Cheek Steel Foundry property, transforming an early 1900’s vintage foundry into a modern 165,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility.
1996
The company name changes to LEWCO, Inc.
2002
Tony Guerra retires and his sons, Ron and Jerry, step up to run the family business.
2016
The company re-acquires its former 64,000 sq. ft. facility and transforms it into a factory focused on non-powered roller conveyor and related products.
2021
With the eCommerce industry booming, LEWCO launches LogistiQ which provides comprehensive, vertically integrated solutions for e-commerce material handling.
