LogistiQ’s Summer Internship Program – Continually Grows with Business

June 23, 2025 | Troy Martin, LogistiQ Marketing Specialist

In today’s ever-changing and fast-paced job market, it is difficult to be fully prepared for everything the world will throw at you after both high school and college graduation. LogistiQ takes pride in offering an extensive internship program that has continually grown each summer for the last few years now. The hands-on experience and real-life situations we provide help prepare them for their next steps as they enter the ‘real world’.

Launched in the summer of 2022, the LogistiQ internship program runs approximately 90 days, from early to mid-May through early August. What began as a small group of students just a few years ago has grown alongside our business. We recognized that not only could we benefit from the additional support, but also that this is a great opportunity to provide valuable experience to those nearing their first post-graduation role.

Those who apply and are accepted for an internship go through nearly the same onboarding process as any new employee, with only a few minor differences. Day one begins with orientation, where everyone gathers in a conference room and kicks things off with an icebreaker by sharing who they are, where they’re from, and some of their favorite activities or hobbies. Interns then receive a comprehensive overview of the company, including a standard handbook review, safety training, a full facility tour, IT setup, and more.

For 2025, we have a total of 38 interns, more than double from 2024. This includes 27 college students who represent five different colleges: Bowling Green State University, The Ohio State University, University of Toledo, Owen’s Community College, and the University of Cincinnati. These students can be found working in our Human Resources, Graphic Design, Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing departments. The remaining are high school students who serve as Manufacturing Interns, working in areas such as Assembly, Machine Shop, Welding, Powder Coat, Inventory, Planning & Scheduling, Panel Shop and more.

In addition to the day-to-day experience gained, there are multiple check-ins throughout the summer. This includes a mid-program meeting with each student to discuss their progress and gather feedback on their experience. Group workshops are also held, covering topics such as interview skills and resume building. There is also a full overview of LogistiQ’s product offerings. Meetings are set with current employees who are former interns, allowing them to share their stories and career progression. These sessions include discussions on life after graduation and how to navigate that transition.

At the end of the summer, each intern is required to give a presentation to our executive leadership team and their direct reports, outlining what they accomplished and learned during their internship. Following the presentations, we host a farewell sendoff. This is a final group activity to celebrate their successes and give the interns a chance to connect one last time before returning to school or looking towards entering the workforce full-time.

Not only are we thankful to be able to offer this program here at LogistiQ, but we are thankful to have the opportunity to help provide real life experiences for these students as they prepare for their futures. Many of our internships are for the summer, but we do offer select opportunities during the fall, winter and spring. We highly encourage students to check our careers page throughout the year to see what opportunities may be available.
